Introduction: How does one enter the “in Christ” Family?
Our Identity Provides Clarity.
• We have been justified. (Gal. 2:16)
• We have been redeemed. (Rom. 3:24)
• We are a new creation. (2 Cor. 5:17)
• We are part of one body of believers. (Rom. 12:5)
Our Identity Provides Completeness.
• We have received grace. (1 Cor. 1:4)
• We have every spiritual blessing from heaven. (Eph. 1:3)
• We have all our needs met. (Phil. 4:19)
• We have forgiveness for our sins. (Eph. 4:32)
Our Identity Provides Confidence.
• We are to be presented perfect/complete to God. (Col. 1:28)
• We have eternal life. (Rom. 6:23)
• We have no condemnation. (Rom. 8:1)
• We are secure in the love of God. (Rom. 8:38-39)
Our identity in Christ provides reason for gratitude and
a response of living out our true identity.
Next Steps
• I will choose one verse this week and look at it multiple times per day as a reminder of who I am in Christ.
• I will share these twelve "in Christ" passages with a family member or a friend who is struggling.
Home Church
Our Home Churches meet weekly to facilitate quicker relational depth, study the same passage taught
Sunday to help apply Scripture in the context of community, and pray with one another. Home Church helps our body seek God’s best for one another.
Home Church Questions
• What was meaningful from the message?
• What “in Christ” passage stuck out to you and why?
• Share a “false identity” you have found yourself slipping into lately?
• Which true identity did you need a fresh reminder of today?
• How will you live differently this week having been reminded of your true identity in Christ?
