Details of the Role
Mission of Fellowship
Own Fellowship's mission - "inviting people to enter God's story, equipping and releasing them to become reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ" through the Fellowship Kid's ministry.
Sunday Morning
Fellowship Kids creates an impactful time of teaching and worship in a safe environment for each child.
We love each kid God brings through our doors.
We teach God's Word at a level that calls our Kids to know and grow in His Word. Kids have a great capacity to learn and grow in the Lord, and we want to foster that growth by calling them to a high standard of learning and development.
Worship is why we exist; we want to help develop a heart of worship in our kids.
Parents & Kids
Fellowship Kids partners with parents to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
We pray regularly for the families of Fellowship.
We understand the church's role is to partner with parents, not take the place of parents. Therefore, we aim to extend what kids learn on a Sunday morning into the homes throughout the week. We accomplish this by communicating what happens on Sunday mornings to the parents.
We aim to help equip parents to disciple their kids and foster spiritual growth in their families by providing resources, opportunities to learn from people doing it, and occasional articles/videos through social media.
We provide a few impactful opportunities throughout the year for families to connect with their families and other families of Fellowship.
Volunteers & Recruiting
Fellowship Kids believes Equipped volunteers are critical to a sustainable, high-caliber kids ministry.
Pray for the Lord's provision of qualified volunteers.
Develop and communicate specific roles within the ministry so others can join in making an eternal impact through Fellowship Kids.
Recruit, select, train, and empower qualified volunteers to execute a top-notch Kid's ministry, having a qualified volunteer in every role. This will involve asking current volunteers to invite others and personally making phone calls or asking people directly.
Recruiting and equipping never ends. It is an ongoing process.
Communicate effectively and thoroughly to keep volunteers informed, motivated, and encouraged.
Plan and have communication for bulletin announcements, social media, stage announcements, and pre-sermon announcements.
Background checks on all volunteers with any discrepancy being discussed with your executive pastor.
Develop consistent ways to show appreciation for volunteers.
Administration
Administration is crucial to ensure every kid is reached and all aspects of kid’s ministry are covered.
Spend time praying for the Lord's leading in Fellowship Kids.
Fellowship staff plans a year at a time in what we call Ministry Plans. Ministry Plans are due in early May for the following year. We utilize these plans to look back, evaluate, and plan where God wants to take us. Ministry Plans are turned into executive pastor.
Ensure excellent communication with parents, volunteers, staff, and all Fellowship.
Promotion of Fellowship Kids events, what kids are learning from God's Word, and opportunities to join the ministry, as well as curriculum preparation and execution for volunteers, are essential.
You will share check-in oversight and recruiting with our other kid's pastor.
The facilities designated for kids are under your oversight and responsibility for upkeep.
Keep your calendar updated to let other staff know where you are.
Plan and communicate vacations and any days off before solidifying plans.
Staff Team
The Fellowship’s staff team dynamic and unity are of utmost importance. Expectations of each staff member:
Have a thriving walk with the Lord!
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Attend Fellowship church-wide events.
Communicate the Fellowship's mission to volunteers, parents, and everyone you can get to listen to.
We are flexible regarding time off needs, but they must be communicated and approved.
On Sundays, we have the largest audience to influence and speak the truth, so to take a Sunday off, it must be pre-approved. All work and prep must be done ahead of time to ensure Sunday AM goes well in your absence.
We desire each staff to continue developing Biblical knowledge and ministry skills.
