Introduction: C.S Lewis, Once Again

The Principle
Loving others is the single most important obligation for all believers (13:8a).

Support for the Principle
Loving others is both the motivation and expression of the entire law (13:8b-10).

•  Loving others fulfilled the entire law  (13:8b).

•  Every other law can be contained in the command to love others well (13:9).

•  Loving others (rather than using them) fulfills the entire law (13:10).

The Priority of the Principle
The day of our final and full salvation is imminent.  (13:11-13).

•  Wake up and look around  (13:11a).

•  Our final and full salvation is imminent (13:11b).

•  Live in the light of righteous living (13:12).

•  Walk out of the darkness of worldly living (13:13).

The Personal Example of the Principle
Become like Jesus Christ who is the supreme human example of love (13:14).

•  Embrace Christlikeness as a manner of life (13:14a).

•  Reject the desires of your flesh (13:14b).

Love one another well while you still can.
This is the single command that summarizes the law.

Next Steps
•
Prioritize love.
•  Focus on Christlikeness.
•  Wake up to what's really going on inside you and around you.
