Introduction:  This is not “hate speech”.

Revelation and Rejection (
1:18-23)

•  God has revealed His wrath against sin (1:18-19).
     •  God has revealed His existence and nature in creation (1: 20a).
     •  Mankind has no excuse for their rejection of God (1:20b).
     •  The downward spiral of godlessness (1:21-23).

•  The rejection of the knowledge of God (1:21a)

•  The vanity of the mind (1:21b)

•  The darkness of the heart (1:21c)

•  The foolishness of idolatry (1:22-23)

Rebellion and Release (1:24-32)
        •  God released them to sensual idolatry (1:24-25).

         •  God released them to sexual perversion (1:26-27).

         •  God released them to justified immorality (1:28-32).

Rejecting God’s revelation leaves us with
no excuse for not embracing the truth
and shows us the need for God’s grace.

Next Steps
•  Embrace the truth of God’s grace.
•  Passionately pursue God as your first priority.
•  Renew your thinking biblically.

Home Church
Our Home Churches meet weekly to facilitate quicker relational depth, study the same passage taught
Sunday to help apply Scripture in the context of community, and pray with one another.  Home Church helps our body seek God’s best for one another.

Home Church Questions
•  How is everyone really doing this week?
•  Read Romans 1:18-32.
•  What are some contemporary forms of idolatry (making something other than God supreme and controlling in our lives)?
•   Trace the downward trajectory of our culture in your lifetime.
•   What areas of idolatry are creeping into the church?
•   What forms of idolatry are creeping into our lives? Be ruthless with yourself.
•   What is our real hope in a world spinning out of control?  How can we make this a daily reality?

Special Offering for OCC Special Pack
God is giving us the opportunity to be His hands and feet and to share the hope and Good News of the gospel through sending OCC shoe boxes.

This year Fellowship has an opportunity to pack 2400 shoeboxes during
our church wide packing party in October.
These shoeboxes will go to hard to reach areas all around the world.
In light of the pandemic, this may be one of the only ways you can be directly involved in sending the gospel around the world this year.
Today we are taking a special offering for the October packing party.
To cover the cost of all boxes, including shipping, it will take $38,400.
