Five Solas for Today - Adair

Don’t Do It Yourself Kit - Swindoll

Introduction: The gospel of grace is not new.

Performance:
Justification is not by works.
(
4:1-8)

Ceremony
Justification is not by outward signs.
(
4:9-12

Obedience
Justification is not by obedience to the law.
(
4:13-16)

Truth:
Justification is by grace through faith.
(
4:17-25)

The example of Abraham demonstrates
that forgiveness of sin is imputed not earned.

Next Steps

•  Embrace the simplicity of salvation by grace through faith.
•  Adjust your theology to allow you to present the gospel clearly.

This Week’s Growth Guide
God’s Word is both central and critical to your spiritual growth. We invite you to utilize the Growth Guide during the week to further your application of the Truth from the message.

• Monday - Genesis 12:1-9
Tuesday - Genesis 15:1-21
Wednesday - Genesis 17:1-27
Thursday - Genesis 22:1-19
Friday - Romans 5:1-11

Home Church
Our Home Churches meet weekly to facilitate quicker relational depth, study the same passage taught
Sunday to help apply Scripture in the context of community, and pray with one another.  Home Church helps our body seek God’s best for one another.

 Home Church Questions

•  How is everyone really doing this week?

•  Read Romans 4:1-25.

•  What was the main point of the message this week?

•  What was your first impression of God?  What did He seem like?  How has your impression of God changed over time?

•  In what ways does your initial impression of God color your experiences with Him today?

•  Which of the three inadequate means of obtaining forgiveness do you think are the most difficult for you to avoid: performance, ceremony, or obedience?

•  How would you describe the feeling of God forgiving you to someone who had never experienced it?

•  God’s plan of salvation has always been for salvation to be “by grace through faith.”  Why is this so important?

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party This week
This week we invite you to join in to help pack 2400 Operation Christmas Child gospel opportunities!  In light of COVID, we are going to host the pack a little differently this year.  We are offering two daytime slots to drop in and pack as well as two evening times to participate. This way we can all spread out a little and be safe. We will need all hands on deck to prep these precious messages of hope through Jesus Christ.
Monday - 1:00-3:00 pm (Drop in anytime) and 6:00-8:00 pm.
Tuesday - 10:00-12:00 pm (Drop in anytime)  and 6:00-8:00 pm.

We will be wearing masks during the pack. Child care for 6 years old and under for the evening times only.  RSVP to Shanna at shann@conwaycorp.net. We are looking forward to this fun and important night of packing!

Feed the Need 2020
The Conway Ministry Center is in need of food to continue serving those hurting in our community. You can give at your favorite grocery store through in-store shopping October 4-11 or give financially online at ConwayMinistryCenter.org. Every dollar given goes a long way. For example, $10 feeds 10 people for 1 day. $100 buys roughly 140 pounds of food. Go to fellowshipconway.org/register for more information.

Elders and prayer team available
During both worship services, we will have elders and/or members of our prayer team under the “Hope” and “Love” signs in the front corners of the worship center. They are available to pray for you after the sermon during the praise time (while singing). Make your way to either side and someone will step into the hallway with you to pray. We count it an honor to come along side of you in prayer.

Home Church
Fellowship’s small group ministry connects our community by building deep
relationships with other believers through the bonds of Christ. Together you will study God’s Word, pray, and serve with one another.  To get connected go to Fellowshipconway.org/homechurch or stop by the Connection Center.
