Sometimes God’s story
puts us in strategically ironic settings.

Our obedience and willingness to confess
demonstrate the integrity of our witness.
(23:1-5)
Conflict
We must often be shrewd
in order to fulfill our calling.
(23:6-10)
Commission
The progress of the gospel cannot be stopped;
our participation in it depends on our faithfulness.
(23:11)
Lessons for Witnesses:
Live with integrity and shrewdness
in order to be an effective witness.
Next Steps
• Examine your own life with a trusted friend to find any areas that might hinder your witness.
• Say “yes” today and follow through by getting involved in God’s story of redemption, restoration, and rule.
This Week’s Growth Guide
God’s Word is both central and critical to your spiritual growth. We invite you to utilize the Growth Guide during the week to further your application of the Truth from the message.
• Monday - John 18:19-27
• Tuesday - John 18:28-40
• Wednesda - Luke 22:66-71
• Thursday - Luke 23:1-25
• Friday - Acts 23:12-22
Home Church Questions
• Read Acts 22:30-23:11.
• What was the main point of the message this week?
• Was there anything new, interesting, insightful, or even unclear from the message?
• What was your main take-away from this week’s message?
• Talk about the general perception that most people have of Christians these days. Has that changed in your lifetime?
• Talk about people you know, not naming names unless it is your own, who have damaged their witness or even the cause of Christ by being a witness without integrity.
• Talk about the difference between the response of the Sanhedrin and Paul when confronted with their error.
• What makes it difficult for most of us to confess our sin? Blindness to it, shame over it, something else?
• How can confession be a good thing in your life and witness? What do you know God has called you to do or is currently calling you to do? Are you doing it? How can your group hold you accountable?
