WITNESSES:
The Spread of the Gospel in the Book of Acts
Shepherds: Guard Yourself and the Flock
(

Jesus and Paul -

Journey to Jerusalem -

Preparation for Ministry -

Two ways to listen to this message

The Example of Paul
Effective ministry prepares disciples for future ministry
by teaching the entire gospel of grace
to unbelievers and believers.
(20:17-27)

Integrity: The Character of Paul’s Ministry in the Past (20:17-21)

Determination: The Purpose of Paul’s Ministry is the Future (20:22-27)

The Role of Shepherds
Effective ministers guard their own hearts and
work hard to shepherd the hearts of others.
(20:28-38)

Protection: Be vigilant and be shepherds (20:28-31).

Sanctification: Embrace grace and work hard (20:32-38).

Lessons for Witnesses:
Witnesses, rooted in the Word of God, proclaim the grace of God
and respond to that grace with integrity and hard work.

•  Discuss your pastor growing up.  What positive things do you remember?  What were challenges?
•  What are essential qualities of a good shepherd?
•  How do you guard your own heart?
•  Paul uses his own life as an example. Why are personal examples so powerful?
•  How is your life an example for others?  What do you think should change to make your life a better example?
