Home Church Questions
Do you have a favorite hike or trail? Our passage is about two different paths. Have someone read Phil 3:17-4:1.
What are some ways we should imitate Paul and follow the example he mentions in Phil 3:17?
He uses this image of “walking” to describe Christian living (3:17). What are some ways the Christian faith is like walking? Are there any ways you need to start “walking” more faithfully?
We learn that many walk as enemies of the cross, and this leads Paul to tears (3:18). How should we respond to those who are on this path?
Who are some good examples you have seen that you can follow? Who are some bad examples that many people follow? Explain why.
How would you paraphrase or summarize Phil 3:19? What is the nature of the path we should avoid?
What does it look like for us to live as citizens of heaven who are waiting (3:20)? What is the nature of the path we are called to follow?
What are some specific ways you can follow the path of the cross this week even if it might be a difficult path (at home, at school, at work, in your neighborhood, etc)?
Phil 3:21 reminds us that taking the right path today is worth it in the end. How would you explain to someone that following Christ’s path is worth it even if it is challenging at times?
Pray for the Unreached: The Kyrgyz in Kyrgyzstan - The Kyrgyz are primarily nomadic cattle raisers living on high plateau. Of the nearly 5 million Kyrgyz living in Kyrgyzstan, 99.82% identify as Muslims. Only .09% of the Kyrgyz identify as Christian. The Kyrgyz face many challenges like poverty, water scarcity, and spiritual strongholds. Pray for provision of clean water and the living water of Jesus. Pray for laborers to share the Gospel and true life change that only comes through Jesus Christ.
