Introduction: – Discipleship according to Jesus
If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother… (Luke 14:25-26)
Disciples have a supreme love for Jesus.
If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself… (Luke 9:23)
Disciples disavow their autonomy.
Take up their cross daily… (Luke 9:23)
Disciples bear their cross.
And follow me. (Luke 9:23)
Disciples pattern their lives after Christ.
Discipleship according to Jesus is costly,
but worth it!
Next Steps
1. I will share with a close friend something competing with Christ as my supreme love or an agenda I am having difficulty laying aside to pursue the Lord’s agenda.
2. I will start and end every day this week confessing the Lord as my first love and trying to live every minute in between as such.
3. I will take these truths and share them with a younger in-faith Christian.

Nicaragua Pastor Support
On March 10th, FBC will send a team to Nicaragua for the first time since October 2019. Ken Wilson, Michael Harrison, John Ashworth, and Tommy Walker will join Jim Wilson and our Nicaragua translators to begin a brand new Bible Institute in Jinotega. In addition to teaching, we will also research compassion ministry opportunities to take a larger team this Fall. To support our Nica pastors/students, we will raise funds in the Atrium on February 19th and 26th. We are expecting attendance to be 100 - 140 students at the cost of $40 per student. We are very excited about this new opportunity and hope many of you will consider supporting one or more students.
