Introduction: The "Compassion" of God (Romans 1-11)
A Response:
A proper understanding of the nature and work of God
is the foundation for our daily transformation and life (12:1a).
A Presentation:
A conscious recognition and decision to submit to the authority of God
is the ongoing requirement for our daily transformation and life (12:1b).
An Act of Worship:
A daily life of submission to the purposes of God
is the only reasonable response to God’s worth and work (12:1c).
A Resistance:
An ongoing commitment to not allow the world to mold you in thinking or behavior is the great challenge of a life submitted to God’s purpose (12:2a).
A Reorientation
A constant saturation with the Word of God
is the means of finding and living out the will of God (12:2b).
A Result
A life submitted to God’s purpose and saturated with God’s word
will be demonstrated by daily living the will of God. (12:2c).
Give yourself wholly to God,
don't be shaped by the world's values
but let the truth of God's grace in the gospel shape your entire life.

I exhort • therefore • you • brothers • through • the compassion • of God

to present • the bodies • yours • a sacrifice • living • holy • pleasing • to God

Romans 12:1-2
A Profoundly Literal Expanded Translation
In light of what I just highlighted— God's ways are so glorious and wise—
I will turn my attention to an authoritative encouragement;
because of what you have learned about God's compassionate grace expressed in the gospel
that delivers us from the horrible and hopeless predicament of being separated from His presence and love, decisively present all that you are as a lifelong, set apart and pleasingly
acceptable sacrifice of full dedication to God which is the only logical response of worship and
service to who God is and what He has done for us through Christ.
Now, stop allowing yourself to be forced into the mold of the current world system, in contrast to worldly values shaping who you are and how you behave, constantly allow yourself to be transformed into the image of Christ by regularly and consistently shaping your thoughts, desires, and choices to be consistent with how the word of God is applied in your life by the Spirit of God which will result in your ability to test your choices and know they are approved as the good, acceptable and complete will of God in every circumstance of life.
The basics of the Christian life is a response to the gospel
that involves a full submission to the will of God
and an orientation of our worldview to God's truth.

We honor and celebrate our dads on Father’s Day with a special slideshow which will be shown during our Sunday services Sunday, June 20. Summer is coming in hot and we would love to have you join our Fellowship Kids Summer Team! We’re going to play some games, sing some songs, all while talking with kids about Jesus. Wrapping Paper Needed
Wrapping paper...you have some, we need some! Our amazing Women at the Well wrap year round in preparation for the OCC Season. To make that happen, they use a lot of wrapping paper and they are completely out. If you have wrapping paper laying around, or see a great sale and would like to donate, it would be so appreciated! You can bring it to the Connection Center on Sundays, or the Ministry Offices during the week.
