Why the Good News is Good News - Theilman

Eternal Security - Ryrie

Assurance of Salvation - Ryrie

Introduction: All theology finds its end in doxology.

                                                       The Big Question:

Am I secure? (8:35a)

                                         The Seven Possible Threats (
8:35b)

            •  Trouble: pressed and difficult circumstances.

•  Hardship: distressing and narrow feelings.

•  Persecution: strong opposition from others.

•  Famine: not having all you need to sustain you.

•  Nakedness: not having all you need to protect you.

•  Danger: internal sense of threat & lack of safety.

•  Sword: opposition from others in authority over you.

The Consistent Reality:
We may suffer, but we are not abandoned (8:36).

The Confident Assertion:
In the final analysis, Christians are the ultimate victors (8:37).

The Ten Defeated Enemies (
8:38-39)

•  Death: The end of life.                    •  Life: The events of living.

•  Angels: God’s spiritual forces.     •  Demons: Satan’s spiritual forces.

•  Present: What I see now.        •  Future: What I can’t see yet.

•  Powers: Opposition from spiritual and human authority.

•  Height: Into space.                  • Depth: Into the ocean.

•  Anything: Absolutely nothing can separate us!

Life in the Spirit
is secure and guaranteed
because of God’s powerful love and protection.

Next Steps
•  Be honest about the real struggles and opposition Christians have in this life.
•  Take heart that we are not abandoned in the midst of the battle.
•  Maintain hope that we are ultimately going to win "a sweeping victory" because of God's love for us.

Fellowship Kids

We are blessed to have new families joining us in Fellowship Kids and continue to have more of our Fellowship families rejoin us each week. As we continue growing, we need you to be a part of sharing the gospel with our children. We specifically need volunteers who can serve during second service in our K2 classes, with our kids who stay both services while their parents serve.
If you want to learn more about this opportunity, please contact Heather McKinney at hmckinney@fellowshipconway.org.
