Slavery in the New Testament - Dan Wallace

Understanding Our Troubled Times -  Swindoll

Sanctification - Theilman

Introduction: The Benefits of Salvation in Romans 5-8

•   (5) PEACE with God!   •   (6) UNION with Christ!

•   (7) FREEDOM from Law!     •   (8) LIFE in the Spirit!

Questions and Answers (6:15)

Question: Can I sin because of grace? (6:15a)

Answer: Absolutely not! (6:15b

The Principles of Service  (6:16-18)

•  Presenting yourself as a slave to sin leads to death.

•  Presenting yourself as a slave to obedience leads to righteousness.

The Practice of Service  (6:19)

•  Presenting yourself to impurity resulted in increasing wickedness.

•  Presenting yourself to righteousness results in growing holiness.

The Payoff of Service  (6:20-23)

•  Sin leads to death.

•  Grace leads to life.

Living the sanctified life that honors God
means you are no longer a slave of sin reaping death,
but are a slave of God gifted with life.

Next Steps
•  Decide beforehand that you will serve righteousness and find life.
•  Pray for your own growth and continued next steps in sanctification.

This Week’s Growth Guide
God’s Word is both central and critical to your spiritual growth. We invite you to utilize the Growth Guide during the week to further your application of the Truth from the message.

• Monday - Philippians 3:17-4:1
Tuesday - Galatians 3:10-14
Wednesday - Galatians 3:26-4:7
Thursday - Galatians 4:8-11
Friday - Romans 7:1-25

Home Church
Our Home Churches meet weekly to facilitate quicker relational depth, study the same passage taught
Sunday to help apply Scripture in the context of community, and pray with one another.  Home Church helps our body seek God’s best for one another.

Home Church Questions
•  How is everyone really doing this week?
•  Read Romans 6:15-23.
•  What was the main point of the message this week?
•  What motivates you to obey God?  This can be lumped broadly into the categories of retribution,     reward, or relationship.
•  What are the obvious ways that people become slaves of sin?
•  What are the less obvious ways people become slaves of sin?
• It’s really pretty risky to share, but can you talk about ways you have been “enslaved” by sin?  How did you escape? •  How do we silence the self-condemning voices from our past mistakes with the application of grace? •  How is being a “slave to God” a delight?

We need volunteers for OCC Collection Week starting Monday, along with people who would like to provide food for the people who are volunteering during the week. Please visit the Fellowship app on your phone and click the OCC icon to sign up or visit the website and click on the OCC menu.  You can drop off your
shoe boxes any time this week, but next Sunday, November 22nd is the
LAST day we can accept shoeboxes for 2020.
Thank you for helping us reach our 6001 shoebox goal!

New to Fellowship?
We are so glad that you joined the Fellowship Family to worship this morning.  If you are joining us for the first time or have been checking us out for a few weeks, we are excited you are here and would love to meet you.  Please fill out the “Connect” section of your bulletin, tear it off, and bring it to the Connection Center in the Atrium, we would love to say “hi” and give you a gift.

Dedication Sunday | November 22 | 9 & 10:45 a.m.
Join us Sunday, November 22, during the 9 or 10:45 AM service as we dedicate all the shoeboxes that have been received and pray for the children, families, and communities that God will change through sending out hope in a shoebox. The entire church will be together in the main services during the worship service, with the exception of the toddler hall. The toddler hall will be open to drop off birth-toddler aged children during both services. A special morning is in store as we are led in prayer in a variety of languages and together ask God to do big things.

Christmas Offering | Generations | Renewal Ranch
Our elders have determined our annual Christmas Offering will address two areas this year.  First, we will provide $10,000 to Renewal Ranch, a vital ministry partner of Fellowship that has suffered financially during this COVID season.  Second, we will put Fellowship on strong financial footing by fulfilling the remaining $150,000 of the Generations campaign before we go to permanent financing in February, 2021. Together, we can make a difference now and into the future by giving to the Christmas Offering. To be part, go to fellowshipconway.org/give, sign-in and select “Christmas Offering.”

Human Trafficking | Kainos Justice School | November 20 & 21
Over the past few years, members of the Fellowship Family have traveled to Germany for 7-10 days to get first class education on human trafficking through leaders of an organization called Kainos, at their justice school. The Kainos Team from Stuttgart, Germany is bringing their justice school online this year, allowing you a great opportunity to get the same information in two days.  We invite you to be a part of this virtual seminar and learn a range of topics including online outreach and prevention of human trafficking, prayer walking/virtual prayer walking, and Bible study. Time: Friday 6-9pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. Cost: $50 includes lunch and materials. Sign up at www.fellowshipconway.org/register.

Elders and Prayer Team Available
During both worship services, we will have elders and/or members of our prayer team under the “Hope” and “Love” signs in the front corners of the worship center available to pray for you after the sermon during the praise time (while singing).
